Our story
BIEM'S Kitchen is run by Iwan and his wife Alida and has been active since August 2017.
The start of our Authentic Surinamese kitchen has its origins in Zaandam at The Yada Yada Foodmarket from where we expanded our brand in 2018 to Amsterdam in the Market 33 Urban Foodcourt in Amsterdam- Zuidas.
As from October 2022 we recently opened our Restaurant in Krommenie Zaanstad area were we can provide a more extensive Take-away and Delivery service with the possibility also to Eat-in in a cozy atmosphere
The secret of BIEM'S KITCHEN is the welcoming, atmospheric and Authentic preparation of our dishes.
Everything is prepared with fresh herbs, ingredients and the finishing touch by a cook who has enormous passion for the Surinamese - Creole cuisine.
The right combinations of knowledge, taste, fresh products and especially authenticity makes THE difference! In BIEM’S Kitchen.

Origin
The name BIEM originated as a nickname among my childhood friends in Suriname where i was born.
As a lover of Surinam food with its melting pot of delicacies from different cultures i have always been curious about how the dishes are prepared with their combinations of typical traditional spices. Through my grandfather who has been working as a cook in Suriname in the Creole kitchen, it has developed so typically from home.
Because of the colonial past, ten different population groups live in Suriname.
All with their own history, customs, traditions and of course their dishes.
If there is a people on earth where everything revolves around food and sociability, then the Surinamese are. Creating this experience is also one of the most important motives of BIEM'S Kitchen.
Over the years I have therefore experimented a lot to put together the perfect dishes and deliver catering services. I think it's very important to taste the authentic taste of the dishes as intended.
Besides the spiceful food, I would also like to let you, as a guest, enjoy the smaller snacks, delicous sandwiches with different toppings and typical Creole meals for the ultimate taste experience.
At BIEM’S Kitchen you always taste the flavors of an authentic Surinamese Creole cuisine.
Biem's secret?
The typical Surinamese hospitality and its original preparation of the dishes. BIEM's Kitchen is now known for it's Saoto soup and Pom Chicken, but be sure to try the spiceful curry massala chicken with roti or the classic surinamese noodles with Roasted Chicken.

Our Vision
Together we are motivated to improve our kitchen every day and reach different types of customers. October 8th 2022 we expanded our brand with a second location in Krommenie - Zaanstad where our focus will be providing extensive home delivery options and providing catering for locals and companies.
We find it very important that our customers are satisfied with our service and focus on continuously improving our service.
